Daniel loved the Lord. His love for God was so strong that he declined great food and wine at the King's table for vegetables. This same love made Daniel so fearless that He openly prayed when the King had decreed that no one should pray.
Daniel never hid his love for God and for the things of God. As a result, those that sought his downfall said of him - “We will never find any basis for charges against this man Daniel unless it has something to do with the law of his God.” Daniel 6:5
1 John 4:18 There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.
Daniel knew that if he prayed, he would face a severe punishment. Yet he chose to open the windows of his upper room to openly pray. The love he had for God cast out the fear of man and what they could do to him. He had love, and was not filled with fear of punishment.
Love never fails! Therefore God did not fail Daniel. Even in the lion's den, love came through and shut the mouths of the lions. God is love and He never fails, we may have to face lions when we choose to love God. But if we keep on trusting Him and continue to love Him, the lions we face will not consume us, but in all things, we shall emerge as overcomers and remain victorious.
