Mark 10:46-52
Blind Bartimaeus called for Jesus, but other people tried to silence him. Whenever we call for change, we may be opposed. Yet we must not give up. We ought to persevere. Blind Bartimaeus persevered - Many people told the man to stop, but he shouted even louder, “Son of David, have pity on me!”
When Jesus finally heard him and called for him, he threw away his coat. This was a coat that identified him as a blind man. He wanted change, and did not want to be known as 'the blind man.' So he threw away what he did not want in order to grab the wings of change. What do you need to part ways with in order to embrace the change you so desire? Is it useless chatter and wasteful hours on social media? Is it fear? Is it certain name calling that you have believed in though God's Word tells you otherwise?
You cannot step out in faith with the baggage of your past failings. You have to release them.
As we desire change, we must have a clear cut vision of what we want. Jesus asked blind Bartimaeus - What do you want me to do for you?”
The blind man answered, “Master, I want to see!”

Bartimaeus knew exactly what he wanted. He went straight to the point and did not mince words. The world will never take us seriously unless we have a clearly defined vision, and are resolute in our thinking.
You cannot have the change you do not desire. Change often requires perseverance and a heart that does not break when opposed. Always remember that nothing changes when nothing changes. Do things differently, dare to do something you have never done before. Come out of your comfort zone!
