The Blessed Act of Giving - Part 2

In 2 Corinthians 8 verses 10 to 13,  Paul continues to encourage the Corinthian church to give, and makes it crystal clear that their giving should be a free will offering according to their financial strength.  It is worth noting that to Paul, whatever is given freely and eagerly towards God's Word and Kingdom is acceptable.

Here is my advice: It would be good for you to finish what you started a year ago. Last year you were the first who wanted to give, and you were the first to begin doing it. Now you should finish what you started. Let the eagerness you showed in the beginning be matched now by your giving. Give in proportion to what you have.

Whatever you give is acceptable if you give it eagerly. And give according to what you have, not what you don’t have.  Of course, I don’t mean your giving should make life easy for others and hard for yourselves. I only mean that there should be some equality.

As Christians we have to embrace the blessed act of giving,  for it is a means through which God blesses his other children and replenishes us.

Luke 6:38 Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your lap. For with the same measure that you measure it shall be measured to you again.
