Steven faced death and he still proclaimed God and he died proclaiming God. Paul faced death and trials so many times and each time he proclaimed God no matter what he faced. He proclaimed God when they bound him and placed him in front of rulers and religious leaders who sought to kill him because of his faith. He proclaimed God when the cell gates shook and fell open and the chains fell off. And he proclaimed God when the ship sunk and they were swam ashore - Acts 27:27-44
That is the attitude God requires of us. That through it all, we will choose Him. What are we confessing? What have we confessed? Those words
will be tested. Jeremiah testified that
God tested his every thought and intent.
Job was a righteous man and for that his heart was tested. Trials come to quicken us, but it also comes
to test our hearts.
Why did we follow God?
Will we still worship Him when we gain nothing from Him? When everything seems to be going wrong, will we choose to worship God? What will you say when that hour and moment comes? Will you
still look at God and proclaim, ‘you are still God and I will stand for you’ or
will you look at the girl threatening death (Matthew 26) and say ‘I don’t know
that man’?
Think on this!
