Things Unseen.

One can get so engrossed in his or her surroundings and be oblivious of all that is going on around him or her.

Likewise you can focus on your little world and take your eyes off the bigger world. You can be consumed with what you perceive and see, and leave out realities that you fail to perceive or see.

Elisha's servant had his eyes on what he could see - an army approaching them.  He was frightened and consumed by this distasteful sight.

2 Kings 6:15 When the servant of the man of God got up and went out early the next morning, an army with horses and chariots had surrounded the city. “Oh no, my lord! What shall we do?” the servant asked.

There is an unseen world that God has hidden from mortal men. It is in the spiritual realm. Things on this physical earth have a spiritual bearing in the spiritual world, and vice versa.

Elisha, whom God frequently used was active spiritually and by God's grace could perceive spiritual occurrences. He therefore replied his servant - Don’t be afraid,” “Those who are with us are more than those who are with them.”

And Elisha prayed, “Open his eyes,Lord, so that he may see.” Then the Lord opened the servant’s eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.
2 Kings 6:16-17

God reigns over things that are seen (visible) and over things that are unseen (invisible). For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. Colossians 1:16

There are things that we cannot see that affect our lives. Therefore men ought to pray and not faint. For we are fighting an unseen battle.

Do not limit your life to what you physically see. Tune in to God via his cordless link - prayer. And the God to whom things unseen bow to, would protect you from what is seen and unseen.
