Jesus stands at the doors of our individual hearts, and knocks. Whoever hears and opens the door for Him, accepts Him in as Lord and Saviour. It is He that does the calling, our part is to do the answering.
Revelation 3:20-21 'Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me. 'He who overcomes, I will grant to him to sit down with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.
I remember when Jesus knocked on my door. I was a young girl who was very active at my local Catholic church. I was part of the children's department while growing up, and used to participate in a Christian TV show. I was working for the Lord in my own little way. I remember a neighbour of mine trying to introduce me to Jesus, but I was not interested because I did not understand what she was driving at, as I believed I was a Christian.
Then I went to a boarding school as a teenager, and remember how a group from abroad visited my school and in a passionate way, through songs, drama and preaching, shared the Gospel in a way I had never heard before. It was thrilling, and I could not stop crying. I asked Jesus into my heart. It was like a window opened in my dark room. His joy flooded in!
It was a roller coaster journey as I had my ups and downs as a Christian, and even grew cold for some years. But Jesus is faithful, He always left the 99 sheep in search of me. And then He introduced me to a very special friend, the Holy Spirit.
