In Hebrews 11, some believed God, even though they never fully benefited from His Promises. Hebrews 11:35-39, talks about how some women had faith enough to see their dead raised to life - how remarkable!
Then right afterwards there is a contrasting report of how others who believed, suffered misereably , were destitute and some even died painfully, not receiving what had been promised. What a contrast!
And yet God considers everyone who believed before seeing as having faith. It is not in the actual act of receiving that we show forth our faith in God. It is in believing and being in expectancy, and never giving up whether we receive or not.
It is up to God to give or withhold. It is all up to His infinite wisdom, and timing. Your role is to believe and act so.
Hebrews 11:35-39 Women received back their dead, raised to life again.
There were others who were tortured, refusing to be released so that they might gain an even better resurrection. Some faced jeers and flogging, and even chains and imprisonment. They were put to death by stoning; they were sawed in two; they were killed by the sword. They went about in sheepskins and goatskins, destitute, persecuted and mistreated— the world was not worthy of them. They wandered in deserts and mountains, living in caves and in holes in the ground. These were all commended for their faith, yet none of them received what had been promised
