Proverbs 16:7 When a man’s ways please the LORD, he makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.
God used Elisha to reveal the war strategies of the King of Aram so that Israel was saved from her. This angered the King of Aram, who investigated, and when he found out about Elisha's expositions, he sent an army after him. 2 Kings 6 : 8-17.
Elisha who worked for God, and was aware of God's support for him, prayed and asked that his enemies be struck with blindness. The Lord answered his prayer. He led them into the territory of their opponents, prayed again for their eyes to be opened. To which God granted, then Elisha urged the King of Israel to show them kindness. 2 Kings 6: 18-22
In Proverbs 25:21-22, we are advised - If your enemy is hungry, give him food to eat;if he is thirsty, give him water to drink.In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head, and the Lord will reward you.
Because Israel's ways pleased God, and because she showed the army of Aram kindness, Aram was at peace with her.
2 Kings 6:23 So he prepared a great feast for them, and after they had finished eating and drinking, he sent them away, and they returned to their master. So the bands from Aram stopped raiding Israel’s territory.
