The Divine Energiser!

Psalm 51:12 Restore to me the joy of your salvation
and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.

There is an accompanying joy to salvation that enables us to delight in God and in the things of God.

Isaiah described this joy as : I delight greatly in the LORD; my soul rejoices in my God. For he has clothed me with garments of salvation and arrayed me in a robe of his righteousness, as a bridegroom adorns his head like a priest, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels. Isaiah 61:10

This joy is often captioned the first love depicting the love exhibited by new lovers who are usually all over each other, and can never have enough of each other.

When we experience this joy in the Lord, we cannot have enough of God. We tend to enjoy being in His presence and listening to His Words. We love to shower Him with delightful words in an act called 'worship.'

Oh how we enjoy talking about our lover! When God is our first love, we would effortlessly talk about Him to others. Evangelism will be our way of life.

In this walk of faith, which is a battle, we can easily grow weary with all the missiles thrown at us. It is the Lord God that strengthens us and makes us joyful and willing to delight in Him. God's Spirit can enable us to continually be willing to serve Him delightfully.  His Spirit sustains our willingness, or else we will become lukewarm.

The joy of the Lord is our strength - Nehemiah 8:10.

Philippians 2:13 - For it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose.
