In this age of instant coffees, instant noodles, buying and selling at the instant click of buttons, there is a tendency to want instant gratification regardless of the consequences.
However, before we indulge in acts that instantly satisfy us, we ought to uphold certain values, and value entitlements and actions that will bring future benefits. We must put into perspective life's needs and wants, alongside God's.
Esau was so hungry that he disregarded his birth right. He devalued what would have blessed his future. Sometimes we refuse to be temporarily deprived so we can invest in our future. We virtually scorn our God - given gifts and refuse to painfully develop them to perpetually grant our needs. We rather choose to serve those that will grant our needs presently and instantly.
A little endurance, a little deprivation is all we sometimes need to create a perfect tomorrow. Do not join the band wagon of getting everything in an easy manner. You may sell your very soul. Place a high value on your God-given rights and blessings. Go through the needed suffering and pain to secure your promised future in God.
