Matthew 11:28-30
28 “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
This life can be full of troubles. We can be weighed down by events we encounter. Our human strength is limited, and this causes us to become over burdened and weary. God has welcomed us to come to Him to be replenished. His Son, Jesus Christ has extended this offer to us.
However, God's promised rest comes at a price. We must be willing to take His yoke, that is His steering; His leading. We must learn from Him, that is be obedient to His Word. We must also take after His character, to be gentle and lowly in heart. Jesus is prepared to change our hearts if we would allow Him. If we heed to His Word, it will transform our minds and hearts.
Only until we do these, can we truly find rest God's way.
