You do not necessarily have to do anything bad to attract the anger of a person driven by jealousy.
King Herod was seething with jealousy at the birth of Jesus - a newborn king! Herod must have believed that Jesus was either going to overthrow him or unseat his descendant. He was so filled with jealousy that he ordered the death of babies. Babies depict innocence.
Jealousy can target innocent hearts, and portray them as trouble. Jealousy can lead people to tag innocent ones with bad and evil names. Jesus was found guilty by jealous men and crucified.
He was an innocent man, and yet he was called many evil names. The Pharisees could not stand him, because Jesus exposed their hypocrisy and this angered them. They could simply not stand Jesus being celebrated. So led the protest to end his life.
