I have faced turbulent seasons in my life when I have looked to God and felt the most soothing peace wash over me.
The man who wrote the song - " It is well with my soul" had just lost his wife and children cataclysmically. He found comfort and peace in God.
Are you in distress? Call to God and He shall comfort you! He can give you a peace beyond human understanding.
