Moses had just assured the Israelites to be calm and that the Lord would fight for them. But he took no further action. Exodus 14:13-14 But Moses told the people, “Don’t be afraid. Just stand still and watch the Lord rescue you today. The Egyptians you see today will never be seen again. The Lord himself will fight for you. Just stay calm.”
The Israelites were gripped with fear for the Egyptians were approaching them, and the red sea was before them.
Then God spoke - Exodus 14:15-16 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Why are you crying out to me? Tell the people to get moving! Pick up your staff and raise your hand over the sea. Divide the water so the Israelites can walk through the middle of the sea on dry ground.
How often do we trust and believe that God will move and save us, and simply stand waiting for Him to do so. While the Lord looks at us and is amazed at us because in our hands lies the key to the answer we seek.
God needs us to make the first move so He can respond to our faith. Jesus had to make the move of going for the five loaves of bread and two fish, hold them up, before God could multiply them. Similarly, he had to order for jars to be filled with water, before he could turn the water into wine.
Organise yourself and make a step of faith! God told Moses -Tell the people to get moving! Pick up your staff and raise your hand over the sea. Divide the water so the Israelites can walk through the middle of the sea on dry ground.
God is waiting for you to move, then He can act on your faith and bring you a miraculous outcome. Exercise your God given authority through Christ Jesus. God is depending on your act of faith.
