Esau was very hungry and for instant gratification, sold his birth right as a first born son. He disregarded who he was and was to become.
How often do we behave similarly as children of God. We have rights as God's children. We are called to be the head and not the tail. We are endowed with power from on high to overcome all powers and authorities in the heavenlies.
But then, for a moment's gratification, we give in to jealousy, selfishness, anger, greed, sexual promiscuity, profanity, and all sorts of evils that rob us of our rights as children of God.
When we give in to the enemy, we hand over our rights. Adam and Eve handed over their rights to Satan, and it took the death and resurrection of Jesus to redeem man from the snare of sin and death.
As born again Christians, we are restored to man's original status to have dominion over all the earth. We can only walk in this authority if we are cautious to obey God, and be alert in the spirit. If only we can be long suffering and endure pain and tribulation, instead of cutting corners.
Jesus said - But the one who endures to the end will be saved. Matthew 24:13
Stand firm! Don't compromise.
