Bitter Jealousy - Part 2

Bitter jealousy can kill to be seen as the utmost. King Saul suffered from this syndrome. He hated that young David had stolen his kingly glory. He could not stand David being praised and celebrated.

Bitter jealousy hogs the limelight and destroys anyone who blocks the limelight from falling their way.

Acts 7:9 "Because the patriarchs were jealous of Joseph, they sold him as a slave into Egypt. But God was with him.

Jealousy led the brothers of Jesus to connive to kill him, they eventually sold him as a slave. Joseph's crime was his potential greatness and his current favour.

1 Peter 2:1 urges us to rid ourselves of jealousy because jealousy is a canker.....it eats at one's heart and drives the one to destroy others, in the end destroying oneself as well.

Therefore, rid yourselves of every kind of evil and deception, hypocrisy, jealousy, and every kind of slander.
