Jeremiah 17:5
This is what the LORD says: "Cursed is the one who trusts in man, who draws strength from mere flesh and whose heart turns away from the LORD.
The songwriter proclaimed - There's not a friend like the lowly Jesus, no not one, no not one.
God is a faithful friend. The Word of God describes Him as there being no shadow of turning with Him. James 1:17 He never changes, always stays the same.
Man cannot control all of his circumstances, and can therefore make promises in good faith, and yet fail to honour the promises due to circumstances beyond his control. Why place your entire trust in something so fleeting?
Lean on God alone, for all other ground is sinking sand.
