God gave his parents specific instructions as to how he ought to live his life. One of the instructions was never to cut his hair. Judges 13
In Judges 16, Samson was lured by his lover to tell her the source of his strength , he fell for her coaxing and told her. This spelt doom for him as she betrayed him and had his hair cut.
Suddenly, Samson became ordinary. He was no longer able to do the extra ordinary things he used to do. The anointing of God on his life clearly was what had given him the enablement to do the extra ordinary, beyond human understanding.
When Jesus was arrested, Peter was afraid and even denied knowing Jesus. Then after the death and resurrection of Jesus, Peter was one of the disciples that waited in the upper room and were baptised and anointed by the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost.
This anointing clearly made a difference in Peter's life. He suddenly became bold and fearless and preached openly to many about Jesus, saving three thousand souls in a day. Acts 2
