Genesis 1:1-3 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty,darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.
God is light, when we have Him in our lives, He brings His Light to light our dark paths. When we are lost, He lights our path, bringing a sense of direction and purpose to our lives.
He gives us understanding. When we are mentally dull, His light illuminates our thinking.
Samuel 22:29 You are my lamp, O LORD; the LORD turns my darkness into light.
Psalm 18:28 You, O LORD, keep my lamp burning; my God turns my darkness into light.
Psalm 36:9 For with you is the fountain of life; in your light we see light.
Job 33:28 He redeemed my soul from going down to the pit, and I will live to enjoy the light.'

God and where He resides, is lit with the light of His presence. It throws out splendour in majestic proportions.
Psalm 104:1-2 Praise the LORD, O my soul. O LORD my God, you are very great; you are clothed with splendor and majesty. He wraps himself in light as with a garment; he stretches out the heavens like a tent.
When we are in Christ and in God, we dwell in light, and God's light enables darkness to flee from us. Hence we overcome all forms and traits of sin and darkness.
Isaiah 60:19 The sun will no more be your light by day, nor will the brightness of the moon shine on you, for the LORD will be your everlasting light, and your God will be your glory.
John 1:3-5 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it.
John 3:18-20 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son. This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed.
Trust in God and in His light. In His light we obtain salvation. His Word (Jesus) is our light. When we embrace this light, we find peace.
Isaiah 50:10 Who among you fears the LORD and obeys the word of his servant? Let him who walks in the dark, who has no light, trust in the name of the LORD and rely on his God.
