Who is behind betrayals?

Luke 22:31-34  And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.

And he said unto him, Lord, I am ready to go with thee, both into prison, and to death. And he said, I tell thee, Peter, the cock shall not crow this day, before that thou shalt thrice deny that thou knowest me.

Jesus knew Peter was going to deny before men that he did not know him, but being a man led by the Holy Spirit, Jesus knew it was an orchestration by the devil. He looked for the root cause of Peter's imminent behaviour, and therefore prayed for him.

Jesus knew how to wage war or do battle spiritually.  He knew he was in a spiritual battle and so perceived things spiritually. Peter was going to deny him in the physical, and yet Jesus knew Satan was behind it, so prayed.

Satan still influences men. He can influence men professing to follow Jesus. Just as he influenced Peter, a keen follower of Jesus.

We battle against demons, principalities, and spiritual wickedness in high places. The devil uses these agents to stir confusion. Know whom you are fighting, and direct your prayer weapon of warfare appropriately.
