Being wise

When Jesus was born, three wise men sought after Him, bringing Him gifts.

The book of Proverbs teaches us that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. Also we learn from the book of Psalms that the fool says in his heart that there is no God. Psalm 14:1

God is the source of all true wisdom. All other sources are fleeting and superficial.  We may think we are wise because we appear streetwise and know how to make money and fame. However, in all our wisdom if we do not seek God, we may die, leave all our riches on Earth, and end up at a destitute place, very foolish looking.

Every investment you make on Earth in possessions and name will pass away, except those you make in God. God's Kingdom is eternal. Your savings in there are eternal and can be drawn from even when death beckons.

Search your heart for the investments you are making. Are you wise or foolish?Matthew 15:1-13. Are you building on a rock (Jesus), or on sand? Matthew 7:24-27. What kind of heart do you have? Are you a replica of Lazarus, or of the rich man - Luke 16:19-31
