Trusting in God alone

Jeremiah 17:5 This is what the LORD says: "Cursed is the one who trusts in man, who draws strength from mere flesh and whose heart turns away from the LORD.

As physical beings, it is easier to appreciate what we can see, touch, hear and feel. God is Omnipresent, but cannot be seen with our physical eyes, and this can make it difficult for some humans to trust and appreciate His presence. It is easier to put our trust in our fellow human beings.

However, God will have us to trust fully in Him. Joseph as a teenager was surrounded by his family. He was much loved by his father, and was the envy of his ten brothers. Yet God allowed him to be stripped off everything he took pride in.

He lost his family, became a slave in a foreign land,  was falsely accused of attempted rape and imprisoned. Saddled with betrayals, Joseph's only hope was God. All around him he witnessed the lies and untrustworthiness of the human heart.

When Joseph had learnt how not to trust his fellow human, God came through with His deliverance and supernatural blessing and provision. The man at the pool of Bethesda had come to a point where he realised that he was not going to receive any help from man. At that point in time, Jesus, thus God, stepped in and helped him.

John 5:6-9 When Jesus saw him lying there, and knew that he already had been in that condition a long time, He said to him, “Do you want to be made well?”The sick man answered Him, “Sir, I have no man to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up; but while I am coming, another steps down before me.”Jesus said to him, “Rise, take up your bed and walk.”  And immediately the man was made well, took up his bed, and walked.

Keep trusting in God, He never fails!
