Guarding our thoughts and words.

You only have to read some of the prophesies that God gave through the prophets of old to know that God is a great poet. He has a way with words.

Words are powerful. God created the World with His Words. The words we speak can have an effect on our lives. What we say reflects what we think, and what is in our hearts. Jesus said in Luke 6:45 that For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of.  A great poet that lived put it explicitly :

If You Think You are Beaten – by Walter D. Wintle

If you think you are beaten, you are.

If you think you dare not, you don’t.

If you’d like to win but think you can’t,

It’s almost certain you won’t.

Life’s battles don’t always go

To the stronger or faster man,

But sooner or later, the man who wins

Is the man who thinks he can.

We have to watch what we allow to become our thoughts. We have to control what we think on/about. We also have to be careful of what enters our hearts.

If we allow thoughts of being defeated, we will act defeated, and become defeated. And if we entertain positive thoughts, and speak positively, we shall have positive results.
