2.11.13

Guard your relationship with God.

1 Kings 13:9-10 For I was commanded by the word of the Lord: ‘You must not eat bread or drink water or return by the way you came.’” So he took another road and did not return by the way he had come to Bethel.

The man of God in the above scripture knew God and His Voice. He had clearly received directions from God. He was firm with the King about following God's instruction . And yet when an old Prophet gave him  new instructions, supposedly, from God, he was swayed to believe them. This led to his untimely death. 1 Kings 13:11-30

We must know and hear God for ourselves. It is good to listen to men and women of God. But please do not put any man's words before the Word of God. For no man is greater than God. No Word is mightier than God's.

When God speaks to you, do not look for human affirmations.  Follow God whole heartedly and ensure that you abide by His written Word. God will never go against His written Word. There is nothing wrong with seeking counsel from men, but make sure these elements of counsel go to confirm your own convictions, and the Word of God.

Please spend time with God. Meditate on His Word. Learn to hear His voice, and get to know Him for yourself. There's no trading for a rich personal relationship with God. Do not allow anyone to let you feel inferior in God. In God's eyes you are a qualified candidate to walk closely with Him.

Just believe, and take strides with God!
