1 Samuel 16:7 But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”
God is not a man. He therefore does not see as men see. Samuel saw Eliab as a potential King, God did not. Gideon saw himself as feeble and weak in all aspects, but God saw him as a mighty man of valour.
Sarah had accepted she was a barren woman and therefore laughed when God said she would have a child in a year's time. God saw her as a mother of many ....she became what God said.
Cornelius was a Gentile. The Jews saw him as unclean. Yet to God, Cornelius was dear to Heaven. God's angel said to him -
Cornelius, your prayer has been heard, and your gifts to the poor have been noticed by God!
How God sees you matters most. Do not try to read the thoughts of God towards you through the eyes of men. Go to God's Word. Those are His thoughts concerning you. Samuel walked faithfully with God, but he got it wrong with Eliab. Men can get it wrong about you, but God never will, so please go to God.
