The last shall be first

Matthew 20:16 So the last will be first, and the first will be last.”

1 Corinthians 1:27 But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong.

God is God. He chooses whom and what to use, and at His own time.  No one can question Him. He chose David, a shepherd whom no one regarded to be king. Even David's dad Jesse had somewhat forgotten to call him when Samuel asked for his sons.

From the back, God remembered David and brought him to the very front. God sees beyond what we see, his timing is not our timing. What takes man ages to accomplish, can take God a split second to complete .

God is still in the business of affirming those who feel left behind. He loves to take the down trodden and restores them beautifully. If you have been relegated to the back, do not fret, trust in God. He is the lifter up of your head.

Jesus confirmed God's good plans for the poor, broken hearted and those in mourning - The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me,  because the Lord has anointed me  to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the broken hearted,  to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners.

To proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor    and the day of vengeance of our God,to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion—to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise    instead of a spirit of despair. Isaiah 61:1-3.
