Finally, love overtook his bitter feelings. Joseph broke down and
wept uncontrollably. He allowed God's healing into his heart. Joseph
looked up to God to understand his past ordeal. He started to see
everything through the eyes of God. He realised that God had used every
minute experience of his to His glory, and to the salvation of nations.
He realised that his dream which was greatly opposed by his brothers,
had come true afterall.
Joseph had the last laugh!
As he let go off bitterness and embraced love, he was able to see
clearly the reason God allowed him to be hurt and betrayed. He thus
appreciated the many lives his life and suffering had saved. His outlook
changed from inwardly concentrating on his own pain,to selflessly
looking at how others had been helped. He therefore said - And God
sent me before you to preserve for you a remnant on earth, and to keep
alive for you many survivors. So it was not you who sent me here, but
God.
Love causes us to interprete our pain through God's eyes and allows us
to cover a multitude of sin committed against us. Like Stephen, we can
therefore say- Lord forgive them for they do not know what they do. Through love, Joseph let go every bitterness that could have destroyed him. Embrace love today, let go off bitterness!
