This world can bring us pain, great pain. Jesus said"I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world” John 16:33. We may face cruelty at the hands of loved ones and strangers alike. We will come across situations where we must either endorse a lie and be embraced, or speak the truth and be dejected. We would come across incorrigible characters, crafty people, angry folks who will literally try our patience, and try our patience, and try our patience until we feel at the end of our tether.
Certain situations we find ourselves in could be demeaning and certain people may take advantage of our kindness and treat us in a condescending way. Oh how easy it is to lose our cool at irritable things, but God is calling us to a higher place of love, where we have to try our best to endure irritability as love is not irritable or resentful. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. It is time to move into this greater power of love.
1 Peter 1:22 Having purified your souls by your obedience to the truth for a sincere brotherly love, love one another earnestly from a pure heart.
1 John 4:7 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God.
