The double consolation

Isaiah 61:7 Instead of your shame you will receive a double portion, and instead of disgrace you will rejoice in your inheritance. And so you will inherit a double portion in your land, and everlasting joy will be yours.

There is a place of rest where God grants His children peace and restoration for all their troubles and woes. God ensures a double recovery of all they have lost from the enemy. Job 42:10 After Job had prayed for his friends, the LORD restored his fortunes and gave him twice as much as he had before. In 1 Samuel 30, David recovered all that he had lost from the Amalekites and even more. He got their flocks and herds in addition. With Samson, even though he had disobeyed the Lord, and had ended up in his enemy's camp, the Lord ensured that he died a victor, because he repented. God enabled him to kill double the number he had killed before he was captured - Judges 16:30 Samson said, “Let me die with the Philistines!” Then he pushed with all his might, and down came the temple on the rulers and all the people in it. Thus he killed many more when he died than while he lived.

Where you have faced shame, you shall received double honour, and where you have been cheated of your inheritance, you will retrieve a double portion, Amen! Joel 2:25-27 “So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the crawling locust, the consuming locust, and the chewing locust. My great army which I sent among you. You shall eat in plenty and be satisfied, And praise the name of the LORD your God, Who has dealt wondrously with you; And My people shall never be put to shame. Then you shall know that I am in the midst of Israel: I am the LORD your God And there is no other. My people shall never be put to shame.
