Responding to God

2 Chronicles 15:2. He went out to meet Asa and said to him, "Listen to me, Asa and all Judah and Benjamin. The LORD is with you when you are with him. If you seek him, he will be found by you, but if you forsake him, he will forsake you.

James 4:8 Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

God reads the hearts of men, looking for faithful hearts that seek Him. When Cornelius sought God, although he was not a Jew, his prayers and alms were a memorial before God, and thus God rewarded  him by bringing salvation to him. Acts 10

Whatever we do for God is not in vain. Our labour of love shall never be forgotten. Similarly, when we forsake God, we tend to get our just deserts. God leaves us to our mess. He never forces Himself on anyone. You may be having nudges from God to forsake your ways, to repent and draw closer to Him. Each day your clock is ticking. God shall never force you to serve Him. However, You may not always get the chance to repent. Tomorrow might be too late!

“Today, if you will hear His voice,
Do not harden your hearts ...”
