Luke 24:13-35
Oh how many times we
walk with God with veiled eyes. Something appears to prevent us from
seeing God as He is, and from understanding His Word and purpose for us.
We worry and fret about needing deliverance, when our deliverer is
right by us. We scream for God when He is walking right by us. We
desire that He save us when we have already been saved. Oh how foolish
we are sometimes - He said to them, “How foolish you are, and how slow to believe all that the prophets have spoken! Luke 24:25.
These two disciples confessed - “Were not our hearts burning within us while he talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?” Likewise,
the Holy Spirit convicts us of many things, we just do not pay
attention. He teaches us, we simply are sometimes hard of hearing. God
walks with us, but we often are too busy with our version of life and
what is happening in it. Let us take some time to listen to God. Let us
tarry in His Presence (pray), and eat with Him at His table (Study His
Word). As we do this, the veil will fall and we shall behold God as He
is, and understand the scriptures as we ought to.
Please spend more time with God!
