Removing the veil - Part 1

 Luke 24:13-35

The disciples of Jesus had walked with Him when He was alive on Earth. They were familiar with Him, and were saddened that He had been crucified. They had heard about His resurrection from the women who went to His tomb that day, and yet their hearts, partly filled with doubt and sorrrow, contemplated over all they had seen and heard.

A stranger joined them who inquired of what they were discussing. Thinking he might be new in the area, they told Him of what had happened to Jesus and went on to describe their disappointment at His death. They told of rumours of His resurrection. These disciples loved Jesus and wished He had been their saviour. Now to them He was dead - end of story.

Unknown to them, their Saviour was close by. The stranger then explained to them how all the things that happened to Jesus were predicted and in line with God's Will. Then He happened to stay with them. Luke 24:30-32 When he was at the table with them, he took bread, gave thanks, broke it and began to give it to them. Then their eyes were opened and they recognized him, and he disappeared from their sight. They asked each other, “Were not our hearts burning within us while he talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?”

Many times we act like Jacob because we allow a veil over our eyes -  Then Jacob awoke from his sleep and said, “Surely the LORD is in this place, and I did not know it.” Genesis 28:16
