The Gospel of Jesus is very simple - Jesus died to save us from our sins, and from all things related to our sinful nature, including sicknesses. Jesus was the last sacrifice, a perfect sacrifice - Hebrews 10:14-22 It was a perfect sacrifice by a perfect person to perfect some very imperfect people. By that single offering, he did everything that needed to be done for everyone who takes part in the purifying process.
The Holy Spirit confirms this: This new plan I'm making with Israel isn't going to be written on paper, isn't going to be chiseled in stone; This time "I'm writing out the plan in them, carving it on the lining of their hearts." He concludes, I'll forever wipe the slate clean of their sins. Once sins are taken care of for good, there's no longer any need to offer sacrifices for them.
So, friends, we can now - without hesitation - walk right up to God, into "the Holy Place." Jesus has cleared the way by the blood of his sacrifice, acting as our priest before God. The "curtain" into God's presence is his body. So let's do it - full of belief, confident that we're presentable inside and out.
The work of Jesus on Calvary was a full and perfect work. We have all curses broken by this perfect work. He became a curse, for us to be blessed through Him. He became poor that we might be rich. He left us with the Holy Spirit to guide and lead us into all truth, to teach us and comfort us. We have the liberty to come boldly before the throne of God, we ought not to come through any other individual or super being. We cannot buy this salvation, or any promise of this salvation with money. It is a free gift of God to all men.
Although Paul preached this simple Gospel, he was concerned that some might pollute the message, and thereby deceive others. 2 Corinthians 11:3 But I fear, lest somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, so your minds may be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.
It is note worthy that whenever the Gospel of Jesus is presented as not enough, where you are taught strange customs and traditions to somewhat top up this simple message, be warned, for you are entering into a corrupted zone. Are you made to feel unworthy to approach God's throne? Are you made to believe you are cursed? Do you feel you have to give offerings of money, et cetera to benefit from the free gifts, blessings and provisions of God? There is nothing wrong with blessing God with our substance, but we must not be made to feel we are buying our way out of bondage. Jesus redeemed us freely, we need not pay money for it.
Beloved, we must return to the simple Gospel of Jesus, and to the truths that are embedded in them. Just like Moses who got the required results though he disobeyed God, we may get good results even when we walk in error and in the corruption of the Gospel, but this may result in our inability to enter into the promised land of God. We cannot afford to miss Heaven. We must open our eyes and be watchful - for there are wolves in sheep clothing all around us. We must be alert in prayer, and in the study of God's Word. And above all, we must listen to the great teacher in our lives - the Holy Spirit!
