Expect a miracle today!

Mark 10:46-52
Blind Bartimaeus sat by the roadside begging for money. As he sat there, he eavesdropped on pockets of gossip from passers by. He sat there wondering who at all this much talked about Jesus was. The more he heard of Him, the more faith arose in his heart - 'If this Jesus really does all that I'm hearing, then maybe He could heal me too,' he may have reflected.

Then, blind Bartimaeus smelt his chance of great opportunity - the passers by announced that Jesus was passing by. 'It's my day and chance', he may have reflected. So he began to shout, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” Whenever, faith rises up in us, there is always something to counteract it. To blind Bartimaeus, it was the voices of those around - Many rebuked him and told him to be quiet, but he shouted all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”

We must always persevere in faith. As blind Bartimaeus persisted in trying to get the attention of Jesus, he succeeded - Jesus stopped and said, “Call him.” So they called to the blind man, “Cheer up! On your feet! He’s calling you.”  The blind man was really expectant and ready for a miracle for he immediately threw away the cloak that identified him as a blind man -Throwing his cloak aside, he jumped to his feet and came to Jesus.

He knew exactly wanted he wanted from Jesus, and because he had faith, he got exactly what he wanted - “What do you want me to do for you?” Jesus asked him. The blind man said, “Rabbi, I want to see.” “Go,” said Jesus, “your faith has healed you.” Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus along the road. God is the same yesterday, today and forever, let your heart swell with faith, and expect a miracle today!
