Leave the past in the past
Isaiah 43:17-19 NLT
I called forth the mighty army of Egypt with all its chariots and horses. I drew them beneath the waves, and they drowned, their lives snuffed out like a smoldering candlewick. “But forget all that— it is nothing compared to what I am going to do. For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.
We can limit God when we focus so much on the past and what He has done for us, or through us, so much so that we do not hear or see what He is saying or doing. God expects us to acknowledge the past. We must admit what He has accomplished for us, but tarrying longer than needed in the past, and interacting more than necessary with the past will stagnate your growth and make you stale.
God's power and might cannot be fathomed. We have only seen and witnessed glimpses of His Glory. What seems like sky scrapers on Earth are only tiny elements when you are very high up on an aeroplane. We must make room for the things God wants to do - they are far greater and glorious than we can ever imagine. As righteous people, our paths ought to shine brighter and brighter, no dimming experience, if we walk hand in hand with God, and at His pace. Proverbs 4:18 The path of the righteous is like the morning sun, shining ever brighter till the full light of day.
Is your heart ready for what God wants to do?
