Jesus, the great servant.
Mark 10:45 For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.
Jesus is the greatest servant ever lived. He was the King of all kings who lowered Himself to become a servant of man, in order to rescue man from future damnation. Jesus left all his Heavenly regal pageantry to be born in a stable, and to become a carpenter's son, who in the end was falsely accused and brutally crucified.
Jesus had a will power, but chose to obey His Father, for it was the Father's desire to bruise Him. It was prophesied of Him way before His birth - Isaiah 53:10-11 Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise Him; He has put Him to grief. When You make His soul an offering for sin, He shall see His seed, He shall prolong His days, And the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in His hand. He shall see the labor of His soul, and be satisfied. By His knowledge My righteous Servant shall justify many, For He shall bear their iniquities.
Jesus lived by what God the Father had purported, and at the end of His life, it was testified about Him - Philippians 2:5-11 Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
We ought to emulate Jesus. We must endeavour to think of others first and serve others unconditionally in love.
