Isaiah 48:3 “I have declared the former things from the beginning; They went forth from My mouth, and I caused them to hear it. Suddenly I did them, and they came to pass.
We cannot calculate the steps of God, and predict His every move. God is a wonder. His ways are far fetched and beyond our thinking. Mary and Martha had called for Jesus when their brother, Lazarus was ill. They knew and had seen Jesus heal the sick, and believed He could heal their brother. Though they waited for Jesus to come and heal their brother, he did not turn up, not until their beloved brother had died. Martha and Mary felt let down by Jesus - if only He had come earlier, their brother would have lived.
John 11:21 “Lord,” Martha said to Jesus, “if you had been here, my brother would not have died.
John 11:32 When Mary reached the place where Jesus was and saw him, she fell at his feet and said, “Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died.”
There are times that we look to God to help us, and it appears He is deaf to our prayers and calls. God sometimes seems not to care for us. Or better put, sometimes we feel God does not care. The truth is, God truly loves and cares for us . His promises and words are true. Whatever He has declared, He will perform in His time.
Martha and Mary had buried their brother. In their minds, it was over. Then suddenly Jesus turned up and raised their brother Lazarus from the dead after four days in the tomb. God at times works suddenly. He can work in an unexpected way, in a way man cannot fathom. There are times that our enemies think they have us all trapped in their devices. They may rejoice in their miscalculated conclusions that no one can help us. Joseph was sold as a slave by some of his brothers. Those brothers believed they were rid of him forever. Potiphar's wife felt she had put Joseph where he belonged for declining her offer - he was languishing in prison. Then suddenly, God turned up and took him straight from prison to the position of a Prime Minister. The life of Joseph changed in the twinkling of an eye.
David , within a day, was promoted from a shepherd boy to an anointed King. The four lepers in 2 Kings 7 went from poor and hungry men to the saviours of a famine-wrought nation. Naaman's skin suddenly went from being leprous to being like a child's beautiful skin. Deaf people could suddenly hear when Jesus had touched them. The blind could suddenly see, the lame could walk.
God has not forgotten you. He shall suddenly turn up and cause your night to become day. Your mourning shall become dancing. Stay in faith!
