Are you known?
James 2:19 You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that-and shudder.
The devil and his demons know that there is a God, and they do acknowledge His true Servants. In the spiritual realm, there's no middle ground, you are either on the Lord's side or on the devil's. You are either hot for God , or cold . Lukewarmness is non existent, it simply means you belong to the devil.
Paul had been used by God to work great miracles through the name of Jesus. Some sorcerers saw this and thought they could do same, so tried to deliver a demon possessed being. Acts 19:13-16 Some Jews who went around driving out evil spirits tried to invoke the name of the Lord Jesus over those who were demon-possessed. They would say, “In the name of the Jesus whom Paul preaches, I command you to come out.” Seven sons of Sceva, a Jewish chief priest, were doing this. One day the evil spirit answered them, “Jesus I know, and Paul I know about, but who are you?” Then the man who had the evil spirit jumped on them and overpowered them all. He gave them such a beating that they ran out of the house naked and bleeding.
The demons know God and they know His son , Jesus. Remember once when Jesus was delivering a man , the demons in him shouted - Mark 5:6-8. Seeing Jesus from a distance, he ran up and bowed down before Him; and shouting with a loud voice, he said, “What business do we have with each other, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I implore You by God, do not torment me!” For He had been saying to him, “Come out of the man, you unclean spirit! The demons acknowledged God and His Son.
We cannot be servants of the devil and think we can cheat on him at the same time. Once people are the devil's and belong to him, they are expected by him to work with him, not against him. The demons knew Paul was genuinely on God's side, and admitted it. The demons actually believed in the power working through Paul, and fled from those Paul came into contact with one way or the other. In the same vein, 2 Timothy 2:19 cautions us: Nevertheless, God's solid foundation stands firm, sealed with this inscription: "The Lord knows those who are his," and, "Everyone who confesses the name of the Lord must turn away from wickedness."
Whose side are you on? Does the devil know you as his opponent or supporter? Think on this!
