The above scripture wonderfully tells us about prayer and what it can do. Prayer is a weapon we have in our hands in a wicked world to protect us against the wiles of the enemy, Satan. Prayer is our means of communicating with God. Prayer strengthens us and weakens the enemy.
When we pray, we open up for God's Heavenly intervention. We connect to Heaven's live wire through prayer, and paralyse Satan's evil power.God tells us in 2 Chronicles 7:14 - If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
For our prayer to be effective, we must be called by God's name. We ought to be His children - John 1:12 teaches us how to become God's children - Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God. We ought to believe in Jesus, confess Him as Lord and get saved and christened into God's family. Secondly, we must remain as humble children of God , then make it a point to seek God - praying, fasting, studying God's Word. We must not grow weary in doing these.
James 4:8a Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you.
Deuteronomy 4:29 But if from thence thou shalt seek the LORD thy God, thou shalt find [him], if thou seek him with all thy heart and with all thy soul.
Proverbs 8:17 - I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me.
Jeremiah 29:12-13 Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. And ye shall seek me, and find [me], when ye shall search for me with all your heart.
Isaiah 55:6 Seek the LORD while he may be found; call on him while he is near.
Jeremiah 33:3 ‘Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.
The above scriptures are different ways by which God draws our attention to the importance of praying and seeking Him. We must seek the Lord at all times. We must also repent of all evil, thus allow God to step in and heal everything that concerns us.
