I John 2:15 reads Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them.
We are warned explicitly in the above scripture not to love the world. This does not mean we ought to hate people who live in this world, nor abhor everything from this world. Though as Christians, we are not of the world, for the time being, we live here as ambassadors of Christ, and of His Kingdom, Heaven. Therefore the world is where we temporarily reside.
The way of the World is opposite to God's ways. The laws of this World almost always contradicts God's laws. The World and its systems are controlled by the fallen nature of man, which is the evil nature of Satan. We need to pattern our lives after the nature of God,which is sown in us when we make Jesus our Lord and Saviour. The very nature of God is frowned upon by this World, and the physical glories of this World are inconsequential in God's Kingdom.
To not love this World is to love God. It is putting God and His Kingdom first in your life. Then the good Lord who knows all you need in this World and life, will supply all your needs. Matthew 6:33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
