Let God lead!

How many of us scurry ahead of God, and yet claim He is leading us?

Isaiah 48:17 reads - This is what the LORD says— your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel:
“I am the LORD your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go.

God desires to direct us to the best of places. He wants the best for us as His beloved children, but only if we would allow Him to lead us. The Israelites were led by God day and night. He led them by a pillar of cloud at day and a pillar of fire at night. God is able to lead us during the day or night of our lives. Life is not always a smooth drive, we may face trouble and trials - these times are our nights. God is able to walk us through these dark nights...He is able to take us through the most difficult times of our lives and lead us to rest and peace. Psalm 139:12 assures us that God is light that consumes darkness - even the darkness will not be dark to you;the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to you.

God holds the operating manual for our lives - He created us and knows our purpose in life . Jeremiah said LORD, I know that people’s lives are not their own; it is not for them to direct their steps. Jeremiah 10:23. David also said in Psalm 139:16 that Your eyes saw my unformed body;all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. David acknowledged that God was His originator and producer of his days in this world.

Though God has good plans for our lives, He does not force them on us, He rather tries to lead us with our consent. So when we decline His leadings, we can come to destruction following wrong paths. Psalm 25:9-10 reminds us that He guides the humble in what is right and teaches them his way. All the ways of the LORD are loving and faithful toward those who keep the demands of his covenant. In verse 12 we read -Who, then, are those who fear the LORD? He will instruct them in the ways they should choose. Therefore we need to submit to God to benefit from His leadings.

Please trust in God, seek His direction through prayer , fasting and via His Word. Listen for His voice and direction at all times.“Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6
