Good + bad = good

Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.

In the parlance of God, all things - good and bad work for the good of those who love the Lord and are called by Him. My husband told me about his Secondary school days. He was a Moslem then , but wanted to argue with his Christian friends about their faith, so took World Bible School courses to enhance his knowledge of the Bible. My husband harboured a lot of love for God, but was not aware then he ought to accept Jesus as His Lord and personal Saviour. God profitably used my husband's wrong zeal . Through this zeal, he was able to study the Bible, become born again, and is now a Bible Teacher. His bad ideas worked for good in the end, because it was borne out of love.

God uses our experiences - both good and bad for His divine purposes. He used Joseph's bad experience in Egypt as a slave to save the nation Israel from dying of famine. Jesus's painful suffering on the cross bought our redemption. When we love the Lord, and even make mistakes, God is able to cause the end to be good, if only we repent and submit to Him. David sinned when he slept with Bathsheba. However, it was Bathsheba who gave birth to Solomon, one of the wisest men to walk on the face of Earth. David repented of his sin, and it worked out for his good. When we walk faithfully with the Lord, He orders our steps. He ensures that our paths are secure and brings us good things. Sometimes we lose sight of God's guidance, but God in His wisdom leads us back to Himself, redeeming our lost years and time.

Trust God and He will cause all things to work out for your good - both the good and the bad.
