The unseen battle

There  is an unseen battle going on in this world and beyond. We are on a battlefield, whether we are oblivious of it or not.


Occurrences around us are most often a result of this unseen battle. We do not need earthly war weapons to fight this battle.. It is a spiritual battle, fought with spiritual weapons, and only visible in the spirit realm.


Elisha was privileged to witness this battle - 2 Kings 6:15-17. Due to the spiritual nature of this battle, it was not visible to the ordinary eye. Elisha's servant therefore could not perceive what was happening spiritually. All the servant could see was what was in the physical realm,  which was an army that had surrounded them. He was therefore filled with fear. Elisha, whom God had allowed a glimpse of the spiritual realm was unperturbed because He saw a Heavenly host on their side. Theirs outnumbered their enemies. Elisha knew they were safe.


We often limit ourselves to happenings on Earth, and thereby judge or perceive things in a myopic way. We ought to delve into the spirit and discern spiritually. We ought to walk in the spirit, and be conscious of God and His Kingdom, of which we are a part. For though we physically are on Earth, spiritually we are seated in Heavenly places with Christ Jesus - Ephesians 2:6 And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus The Word of God vividly describes where Jesus is seated in Ephesians 1:20-22 - Which he worked in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: And has put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church.


In effect, we are seated far above all principality, power, might and dominion. Everything demonic is beneath us as we reign with Jesus. Therefore we must not be afraid. If we become conscious of who we are in Christ Jesus, everything that scares us, and puts fear in us will shrink and become a non entity. We shall perceive happenings around us from a higher altitude. In that way, huge problems will become small in our eyes. Just like tall buildings look tiny when you are very high up on a plane.


You have all it takes to finish this battle as the victor, if only you will see rightly. Adjust your spiritual lens and take possession of the victory that is already yours.
