2 Chronicles 20:17 " You will not have to fight this battle. Take up your positions; STAND firm and see the deliverance the LORD will give you, Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Go out to face them tomorrow, and the LORD will be with you.'"
Exodus 14:13 Moses answered the people, "Do not be afraid. STAND firm and you will see the deliverance the LORD will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again."
From a human point of view, battles are strenuous and exert energy. However, as Christians, we have battle strategies that require no strenuous effort from our side. There are certain battles that all God expects from us is for us to STAND FIRM and see the victory He has in store for us.
Ephesians 6:13-16 Therefore put on the full armour of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to STAND your ground, and after you have done everything, to STAND. STAND FIRM then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place. Your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Taking the shield of faith, with which you shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
From the above scripture, we are told to STAND, STAND and STAND.
There is a time to stand in our walk with God. To simply stand and rely on God. To stand and wait on God . God sometimes wants us to be still and know that He is God. Grace has given to us what we do not deserve, and what we have not worked for.
Whilst we stand , we must have truth as our belt, righteousness as our breastplate, the gospel of peace as our shoes, and faith as our shield. This is because if we simply stand clothed in carnality and sin, we would be destroyed by the fiery darts of the wicked. We must be appropriately dressed, whilst we stand and wait for God to establish our victory.
Marking time in war is not wasted time. Standing firm on God's Word and waiting on God is a battle strategy in itself. Whilst standing we must eschew feelings of fear and embrace faith, for that is our shield against the false evidence the devil will show to us.
The battle is the Lord's, therefore take your FIRM STAND, and see His victory, which is our victory - in other words, your victory!
