I have heard and read about people who had missed coaches, trains and air planes only to learn moments later that they had actually missed a terrible accident or crash.
Some delays are deliverances in disguise. God sees what the human eye cannot see, and does for human beings what we do not always see. When Elisha's servant was afraid of the army that had surrounded them, little did he know that God had sent an unseen spiritual army to save them 2 Kings 6:15-17. The battle we are engaged in is spiritual, but manifests in the physical. There are many things that happen to us, that happen for a purpose unknown to us. Sometimes we face delays in the physical which are in actual sense deliverances from things God has foreseen and curtailed.
When you have done all that you know to do, and there appears to be delays beyond your control - hold on and trust in God. One child of God was declined a job offer at the World Trade Centre on one of the upper floors. Who knows what his end would have been after 9/11, if he had got that job.
We will understand the story of our lives by and by.... some part of will become clearer when we see the Lord face to face. Simply trust God!
