The God who cannot be mocked

Galatians 6 :7 Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.

The common saying what goes around comes around is a true saying, and this is confirmed by scripture as seen above. God cannot be held in disdain. This Scripture virtually says. We cannot by our words and deeds sneer at God and think there are no consequences. We cannot alter figures and steal money, and secretly rejoice thinking we got away with it. Though this may escape the auditors, God who sees all things will ensure you get your just deserts, unless you truly repent. We can mock God by saying there is no God, or by worshipping other gods. We mock God by holding other things in our lives more important than God.

We mock God when we live contrary to His Laws and commands. When we engage in deeds of the flesh - Galatians 5 :19-21 When you follow the desires of your sinful nature, the results are very clear: sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures, idolatry, sorcery, hostility, quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissension, division, envy, drunkenness, wild parties, and other sins like these. Let me tell you again, as I have before, that anyone living that sort of life will not inherit the Kingdom of God.

We ought to know that when we live as shown above. We may often times reap our punishment on Earth, but even if this is not so, and we happen to freely enjoy our sinful life styles with seemingly no comeuppance in sight, then be rest assured that there is a day of reckoning after we die. When that time comes there shall be no escape. Solomon re - iterates this.
Ecclesiastes 7:15 In this meaningless life of mine I have seen both of these: the righteous perishing in their righteousness, and the wicked living long in their wickedness. Solomon carries on to explain the truth that God is not mocked - that we shall eventually reap what we sow - Ecclesiastes 8:12-13 Although a wicked person who commits a hundred crimes may live a long time, I know that it will go better with those who fear God, who are reverent before him. Yet because the wicked do not fear God, it will not go well with them, and their days will not lengthen like a shadow.

2 Peter 3:8-10 reminds us that : But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: with the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.

But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything done in it will be laid bare.

Knowing that we shall be judged, that for every evil done, we shall be rightly served our just deserts, we must live bearing the fruits of the Spirit -

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. Galatians 5:22-24
We can inherit the Kingdom of God if we are faithful followers of Jesus who are filled and led by His Spirit, and who bear the fruit of the Spirit. Let us therefore not grow weary in doing good for we shall soon reap our eternal glory. These are simple truths that should not be treated with disdain as they carry the potential to cause us to choose eternal life, and eschew eternal condemnation - God bless u!
