God, our deliverer!

Proverbs 26:27 If you set a trap for others, you will get caught in it yourself. If you roll a boulder down on others, it will crush you instead.

During Queen Esther's reign, Haman was planning to kill all the Jews. He had intentions to annihilate them. However, as the Jews turned to God in fasting and prayer, God caused Haman to suffer the fate he was planning for the Jews. He died in their stead on the gallows he had prepared for a Jew. Esther 7:10 So they impaled Haman on the pole he had set up for Mordecai, and the king’s anger subsided.

In this life, we must be careful what we wish or plan for others. God is a just God who comes to the rescue of the helpless, especially those who cry to Him for help. When someone plans evil against another for no good reason, God is well able to deliver the one and punish the evil person.

As a child of God, do not be afraid of the evil intentions of men against you. Have faith in God, and trust in Him to deliver you. Stay in obedience to His Word, and leave the rest to Him. The Psalmist testifies that :
They spread a net for my feet-- I was bowed down in distress. They dug a pit in my path, but they have fallen into it themselves. Psalm 57:6
The next verse shows the psalmist's trust in God - My heart, O God, is steadfast, my heart is steadfast; I will sing and make music.
Another translation puts it this way - My heart is confident in you, O God; my heart is confident. No wonder I can sing your praises!

We must have faith in God's ability to deliver us, for he who doubts cannot receive from the Lord - But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; James 1:6-7

Finally, brothers and sisters, keep your thoughts on whatever is right or deserves praise: things that are true, honorable, fair, pure, acceptable, or commendable.
