The Heart God Guides

Jesus said "I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me" John 10: 14

God created all things but not all things belong to Him. As a human being, you can create or make something, it does belong to you, but the minute someone purchases it from you it belongs to them. Human beings belonged to God until Adam and Eve sinned and caused Satan to have the right to us. Jesus has bought us back, and has given us a gift voucher that we must use to regain our birthright as Children of God. This gift voucher is believing in what Jesus did for you on the cross, confessing and accepting Him as your Lord and Saviour. By so doing, your gift voucher will be exchanged for you to once again belong to God. You can know about this gift voucher but until you use it, the Gift of Salvation and of becoming a child of God is shelved.

Once you accept Jesus and become a child of God, you become one of the sheep that knows Jesus, and whom Jesus knows. God is the good Shepherd who calls after His sheep, and they follow - My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. John 10: 27
God knows those that are His, for not all that claim to belong to Him are truly His. 2 Timothy 2:19 cautions us But God's truth stands firm like a foundation stone with this inscription: "The LORD knows those who are his," and "All who belong to the LORD must turn away from evil."

God guides those hearts that obey His Word. The truth is, many hear the voice of Jesus, but only those that genuinely love Him, hear and follow. The heart God guides, continually cries out to Him, through Word and deed - 'Show me your ways, O Lord; teach me Your paths' (Psalm 25:4). Direct my steps by Your Word (Psalm 119:136). It is a heart that humbles itself before God in prayer and studying of God's Word. When we pray to God and continually seek His Face, He will instruct, guide and lead us . God has promised us - I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with my eye (Psalm 32:8). God assures us in Isaiah 30:21 'Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, "This is the way, walk in it." Whenever you turn to the right hand Or whenever you turn to the left". The Psalmist reminds us that
God's word is the lamp unto your feet and a light to your path (Psalm 119:105).

When we pray and study God's Word, we must open up for the impressions and understanding God pours into our Spirit. God talks to us sometimes loudly like He did to the Israelites at Mount Sinai - Exodus 19 and 20. In this age and time it could be through a spoken prophesy, a clear dream, trance or vision, a Word of Knowledge or Wisdom, or a clear voice in conformity to God's Word. Other times, God speaks to us gently and subtly like He did with Elijah - 1 Kings 19 :11 - 12. In this age and time it might be through nature and events: using the things around us to minister to us. It could be through a song or Word ministration, through a gentle nudge or impression within us, and through a still , small voice beckoning to us.

Let your heart be broken and contrite before God that you may continually be a sheep to Him, and He, your Shepherd.
