Psalm 145:3 The Lord is great and is to be highly praised; his greatness is beyond understanding.
The Lord God Almighty who created the Heavens and the Earth is a great God. Before Heaven came into being, He was God . He is everlasting. Psalm 40 :12-15 declares : Can anyone measure the ocean by handfuls or measure the sky with his hands? Can anyone hold the soil of the earth in a cup or weigh the mountains and hills on scales? Can anyone tell the Lord what to do? Who can teach him or give him advice? With whom does God consult in order to know and understand and to learn how things should be done? To the Lord the nations are nothing, no more than a drop of water; the distant islands are as light as dust.
God is above all, no one compares with Him. He created the hosts of Heaven and they worship Him - Nehemiah 9 :6 You alone are the LORD; You have made heaven, The heaven of heavens, with all their host, The earth and everything on it, The seas and all that is in them, And You preserve them all. The host of heaven worships You.
God through scripture has shown His awesome power - He delivered the Israelites from the hands of the Egyptians in great style and with mighty miracles. God fed five thousand men with five loaves of bread and two fish. He shut the mouths of lions so they would not attack a faithful servant of His called Daniel. He cooled a burning furnace to protect His own that had been thrown in. What can't this God do?
In recent times, He has miraculously given babies to women without wombs and ovaries. He has raised the dead, and healed the sick. This God specialises in surmounting the insurmountable. What are you faced with that overwhelms you? Be still and know that He is God. He is a great God that is whispering gently to you - "only believe!" Jesus said in Matthew 21:21 "I tell you the truth, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, 'Go, throw yourself into the sea,' and it will be done.
God is still in the miracle business. He needs you to believe and have faith so you can receive . Remember, James 1: 6- cautions us But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That man should not think he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all he does Kindly keep this in mind, discard fear and doubt, embrace the power that works in us and through us - God's mighty power!
