Zechariah 4:10 Do not despise these small beginnings, for the LORD rejoices to see the work begin, to see the plumb line in Zerubbabel’s hand.”
Every human being is born small and grows. Seeds are small and yet grow into big trees. Nature shows us by example that small things can become big if we nurse them. God gives breadth and life to human beings to grow, as well as provides food for them. It is God that sends rain for seeds to become trees.
When you commit a small thing into God's hands, He makes it big. Elijah prayed for rain, and when his servant saw a little cloud , he warned about rain - 1 Kings 18:41-45
Then Elijah said to Ahab, “Go up, eat and drink; for there is the sound of abundance of rain.” So Ahab went up to eat and drink. And Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; then he bowed down on the ground, and put his face between his knees, and said to his servant, “Go up now, look toward the sea.” So he went up and looked, and said, “There is nothing.” And seven times he said, “Go again.” Then it came to pass the seventh time, that he said, “There is a cloud, as small as a man’s hand, rising out of the sea!” So he said, “Go up, say to Ahab, ‘Prepare your chariot, and go down before the rain stops you.’” Now it happened in the meantime that the sky became black with clouds and wind, and there was a heavy rain. So Ahab rode away and went to Jezreel.
Elijah saw the abundance of rain with his mind's eye, and in his spirit, so prayed about it - committed it into God's hands. And he exercised faith by being in expectancy of rain, and sending his servant to check for signs of rain. When finally, his servant announced the appearance of a cloud, as small as a man's hand, he sent him to warn Ahab of a rain pour. Elijah saw the big in the small. He saw the seen in the unseen.
There is power and potential in small beginnings. Do not despise the small things, for they have the capacity to become your dream come true.
